History / Details
Born in 1838; contemporary of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur and guru of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur.
Lived with strict renunciation and accepted madhukari for daily food.
Saw Vrindavan and Navadwip as entirely divine.
Entered samadhi on 17 November 1915 at Kuliya on a Ganges sandspit.
Original samadhi site later faced danger from Ganges flooding and erosion.
Samadhi was moved after sixteen years to Sri Chaitanya Math, Sridhama Mayapur.
Present samadhi is located on the southern bank of Radha Kunda inside the Math area.
Relocation and construction of the samadhi temple were supervised by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur.
