As part of our Cyber Threat Analytics and Research (CTAR) team, you will leverage advanced technologies to help defend against cyber-attacks by applying cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and analytics techniques. You'll work with diverse data sets and collaborate with a team of experts to help shape the future of cybersecurity for both our organization and the broader tech industry.
What You'll Do:
As an intern on our CTAR team, you'll be an integral part of a technical team focused on building security solutions. Some of your exciting responsibilities will include:
Collaborate with Experts: Work alongside data scientists and engineers to design, develop, and implement analytical software and services that enhance cybersecurity efficiency and automation.
Build and Apply Machine Learning Models: Utilize machine learning techniques such as statistical modeling, classification, and clustering to develop models that address cybersecurity challenges. You'll be involved in the full lifecycle of model development, from data acquisition and feature engineering to testing, deployment, and tuning.
Optimize Existing Models: Support and refine current analytical models to continuously improve their effectiveness.
Shaping Cybersecurity Strategy: Contribute to shaping the direction of our Information Security architecture and technology.
Communicate Impact: Clearly present and communicate data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that security decisions are data-driven and actionable.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field, with less than two years of relevant work experience.
Strong communication skills, with clear, concise, and professional writing and speaking abilities.
Ability to demonstrate professional judgment in all communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Python.
Familiarity with SQL, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and HTML.
Basic understanding of statistical principles.
Experience with database applications such as Access, Oracle, SQL, or similar technologies.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to address challenges head-on.
Strong collaboration and team-working skills.
Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity.
Additional Information:
Compensation: The estimated hourly rate for this position ranges from $27.00 to $31.00, depending on skills and experience. Additional benefits may include potential bonuses and equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and more).
Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Work Hours: The position's hours will vary based on department needs.
Work Location: This is a hybrid position, where you can alternate between working remotely and in the office 2-3 days a week, depending on business requirements.
Travel Requirements: Travel for this role is minimal, around 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This role is based in an office environment. The position will require sitting and standing at a desk, communicating in person and via telephone, and operating standard office equipment.
