The
VFP Pharmacy Group Pharmacist in Charge is responsible for overseeing the clinical and operational activities of VFP Pharmacy. The
PIC is responsible for the pharmacy’s compliance with all state and federal regulatory standards. Serves as a leader and role model for the pharmacy team, setting a professional tone and demonstrating delivery of service equal to our company standard and mission statement. The
PIC is responsible for the successful day to day operation and workflow of the Pharmacy, and also has direct supervisory responsibility for Clinical Pharmacists.
Requires the ability to inspire and mentor staff to work in a culture of collaboration toward achieving the goal of delivering the best patient care in the Fertility Pharmacy industry. Will also be integrally involved in process improvement and business development strategy. Will work with all stakeholders to uphold the operational standards in place to deliver patient care which measures up to and exceeds the requirements of multiple national accreditation bodies. Will coordinate with other department heads to ensure policies and company practices are followed. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy Operations, the
PIC serves as leader of VFP Pharmacy and works closely with other members of the management team.
- Maintains active CA pharmacist licensure
- Ensures pharmacist in charge coverage and back up for all states required for non-residency pharmacy licensure.
- Manages everyday workflow, in conjunction with management will reallocate staff as needed to meet service expectations and cover staffing shortages.
- Complies with state board of pharmacy rules and regulations, service center policies and procedures and the client facility policies and procedures.
- Supervise, provide continual coaching, performance reviews and oversee training and orientation of pharmacist staff and Fulfillment supervisor. Ensuring proper scheduling for the staff and approves time off requests for direct reports.
- Evaluates current processes for potential improvements in quality and efficiency
- Track and act on staff metrics related to productivity
- Monitors purchasing that ensures compliance with vendor contracts and that no significant inventory build with monthly utilization approximating purchases. Ensures that best pricing is attained. Is responsible for the pharmacy inventory, accountability, and security.
- Brings about satisfactory resolution of all patient service issues.
- Meet regularly with other leaders to discuss relevant issues regarding the work of the pharmacy – for example: staffing, facility and IT needs, workflow issues, suggestions for improvement.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant Fertility industry trends and medications. Participate in industry events as requested
- Serves as a representative for the site on the Quality Management Committee working closely with the committee to ensure that accreditation standards are upheld and adhered to in the daily work of the pharmacy staff.

- Communicate regularly with sales team regarding the status of established clients and potential targets
- Develop meaningful relationships with partners and stakeholders, including manufacturers

- Be available to work Monday–Friday 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. PT and Saturday 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. PT as needed.
